When I started yoga, I was a bit intimidated, as it was brand new to me. The instructors at Green Lotus were so amazing at making newbies feel comfortable. Within a few classes I got the hang of it, and really was able to use it to my advantage and get the maximum benefits out of it. The health benefits I have gained include increased flexibility, weight loss, and the ability to use breathing techniques in my everyday life. In general, my entire body feels less tense overall. When I miss a week or two of my regular yoga practice, I notice it in my body. I feel stiff, and the need to stretch. I also notice more anxiety creeping in. Taking up yoga has been the best choice I have made in a very long time!

All the wonderful instructors at The Green Lotus Studio are so amazing. They make you feel comfortable and are very friendly...not to mention great at doing yoga! The studio is always very clean and is a wonderful spot for practice. It is very calming with all the plants, wall decorations and smells. I have been going to the studio now for a little over 3 years and I couldn’t imagine not having it in my life now! I even practice at home thanks to some online videos they have shared. I would highly recommend anyone to join as they have several different level classes all throughout the week and for a very reasonable price per class...no membership required! I love the team and will always continue my practice here.

Yoga has helped me gain strength and increased my general fitness level. When I first started, I wasn’t really doing anything active except taking walks and some hiking; I’ve never been someone who enjoys working out. But Shelley made it easy to get started! It may sound strange to think of working out or exercise as something that’s relaxing but that is exactly what yoga is for me. Even while I’m increasing my strength and flexibility, I’m relaxing and finding a deep sense of peace. I no longer have lower back problems, I have an increased level of fitness and energy AND I’ve made wonderful friends!

I was a newbie to yoga when I discovered Green Lotus Yoga Studio. Never imagined the strength yoga would bring to my life, on and off the mat. Always grateful for GLYS.

I practice yoga twice a week at The Green Lotus and have been doing so since the studio opened. This has helped me improve my strength and flexibility. For example, I used to not be able to sit crIss cross without pain and can now do so with no problem. It also helps me ward off the knots in my shoulders and other tight muscles I get when stressed.
Perhaps the biggest benefit is the sense of peace and calm I feel after an hour of yoga practice.

I started attending yoga sessions at Green Lotus in January 2019. The instructors are friendly and wonderful at teaching the basics of breathing & yoga poses for the beginner yogi & accommodating for those who are more advanced in their yoga practice. Their expertise & kindness have been instrumental in my personal yoga practice and implementing self care. Yoga has been a wonderful aid to battle stress & anxiety in my life.

As a pediatric occupational therapy practitioner, I rely on the strength and function of my body in order to ensure the safety of my clients while working with them. While in town from Arizona for a few months, I joined my sister-in-law at her yoga class for “something to do.” At that time I was post 6 months rotator cuff tear, still experiencing pain with movement, and had very limited range and functional ability. I attended Shelley Kamlowsky’s classes twice a week for just a few weeks and the impact on shoulder complex was amazing! I regained almost full range shoulder flexion while greatly improving my movement patterns with internal and external rotation. After my first class with Shelley, the pain with movement decreased significantly and continued to decrease to almost non-existent by the time I returned to Arizona.

Yoga is like a gift to yourself! It not only benefits me physically by providing exercise and promoting joint flexibility but yoga also addresses my emotional health, It teaches me to slow my body down and focus on deep breathing, which is useful as a coping strategy to decrease stress and improve overall wellness.

Through the practice of yoga at Green Lotus, the aches and pains of sitting at a desk all day have diminished greatly. Increased mobility and range of motion have improved and mentally, stress and any potential anxiety on a day to day basis has been noticeably reduced.
Above is kinda formal, lol, but bottom line, I feel so much better and am in better shape mentally and physically than I’ve been in a long time.

I could go on forever how much I love yoga.. here goes!
With regular practice, I have experienced a deeper connection with my body and it’s needs. Pushing limits within my practice while learning new skills has increased my self confidence. When I slack in maintaining my practice, I feel rigid and not centered, compared to when I practice often. I have also gained the ability to adjust in challenging situations by breathing through those moments. Yoga has taught me how to be more present, experience life with more freedom from the anxious mind, and has improved my flexibility, stability and balance.

From the first moment I stepped into the Green Lotus Studio, I felt welcomed and surrounded by support. The instructors make each and every class worth taking the time to attend. I leave class feeling centered, grounded and more focused to take on the challenges each day brings. The studio has helped me to learn how to honor my body, improve my strength and quiet my mind.

I didn’t discover yoga until well into my 40’s and I had no idea the health benefits it offers. For me yoga refreshes and renews that little light in me that often dims taking care of everyone else. Yoga makes me feel strong and gives me energy and brightens my mood. Yoga is a total stress reliever too, I feel so much lighter after spending time on my mat.

I was a late bloomer as far as Yoga goes, so to all of the folks who think they are too old to start yoga you are NOT! I did not start until my mid 50’s. I am now 64 years young. I did not enjoy my first few classes but I pushed through them, watching the clock as the hour long class endured. After the first 3 to 4 weeks, I was no longer watching the clock and started to actually look forward to the classes. I first started going 3 times a week at first and now practice every day! I also did not get (at first) the breathing and mind part of the practice, but my niece who is an instructor said to focus on the moves and the breathing and mind will come later. She was also right and I love all aspects of yoga.

I feel that I am in better shape now than I was in my 20’s. My body feels different if I miss two days in a row of my practice. Because of my age, I don’t feel comfortable in going back to a studio, but Shelley has been gracious and has a few of her practices on U Tube. My favorite is the 20 minute sun salutation. You would be surprised what doing this everyday will do for you and everyone has 20 mins that they can put aside for their mind and body…right? I look forward to the outside classes that Shelley also has and getting back into the studio soon.

Thanks Shelley for all you do for us.

Wow! We are so lucky to have our own studio here in Lebanon. I have been practicing yoga for over 20 years and can’t tell you how much one can benefit from the whole body experience that yoga brings. The Green Lotus Yoga studio is very laid back and welcoming to all who seek this nourishment. The teachers offer their own unique techniques providing something for all. Every time I leave their studio I’m refreshed, relaxed, and feel my best. The practice of yoga is not just good for the body but mind and soul as well!

I started practicing yoga when I was in college- a friend introduced it to me as more of a type of exercise. I had trained in classical ballet growing up and felt like yoga could keep me flexible. It took me a while to realize yoga is so much more than just exercise. While it certainly can burn calories, define muscles and give you a great sweat session, yoga teaches and has taught me some amazing things. So much of what I’ve learned on the mat I use in daily life. Mindfulness, meditation and marrying movement to the breath are just a few tools I’ve learned through consistent practice. As a migraine sufferer, yoga has also helped me immensely deal with chronic pain. There’s something new and different to discover every time I roll out my mat. And I’m never disappointed after taking the time to practice. It moves my body and fills my soul.
